The day we flew home from Christmas vacation, the Woolley side of the family gathered at LA Central (aka, our house) for a little New Year's get-together. They beat us there by a few hours since we didn't get home until well after dark. Waiting for us was the Cox clan, Zonda, Cliff, Dustin, Kristal, and Donna. Flashing back a couple of posts, you'll remember that Jeremy got a tummy ache on the flight home, so when we got home we took him straight to bed without so much as a hello. We didn't want to expose him to anyone else in case he was contagious. When he woke up the next morning, he seemed back to his happy self, but somehow over the next few days, a few others followed the tummy trouble trend. Poor Bob rang in the new year on sick kid clean-up detail.
Other than that, it was a fun little visit, though we were only able to stay together three days. The cousins had so much fun playing with each other, but getting a picture of all the wiggly worms at once was tough. Here are some of our best efforts:

It snowed (which for LA means it dusted about 1/2") on Sunday, January 2nd. Guess it followed us from Alabama. When we got out of church, the freeway was closed at our exit b/c of the "snow" over the Grapevine, so the freeway was a parking lot starting a few miles before our exit. Luckily, we'd been warned while we were walking out of church, so we were able to take back roads home. There were cars lined up and down Castaic Rd right off of our exit that were stuck there overnight. The news said people were sleeping in their cars b/c the couple of little motels were all sold out. Bet the gas stations and fast food joints were giddy with joy at the road closure.
We hope to see them all again soon; I can't wait to see how little Ruby changes. We think we might even get to see them for Easter. Fingers crossed...
