Weekend before last (obviously not last weekend, since last weekend the beaches were closed b/c of swells from the earthquake in Japan), we went to the beach with Granddaddy, G'ma Monte, and Zonda. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was lovely.
The boys played by the water digging up crabs and such.
After the beach and the cool kids playground set right in the sand, we had lunch at a seafood joint on the pier. While we were waiting for our food, we made a discovery about little miss chlo-bell: she LOVES lemons. She munched and munched and only made faces when she got a chunk of rhine.
Ryan had jalapeno breaded fish and chips, and I had a mahi mahi curry. Both were way yummy.
We walked off our lunch with a stroll on the pier.

On the way back to our house, Cliff called from a helicopter (he'd gone off setting bee boxes that day for work) and asked us to pick him up at the local airport. It was perfect timing, since we were already driving and just fifteen minutes from the airport. Well, near perfect, we were hoping Jeremy would get to see the helicopter land and take off, but we were a few minutes too late. It was so neat the way he could just swoop in to the nearest airport and meet up with the fam. So fancy.
They just stayed at our house for a couple of hours on their way back to Visalia, so it was a short but nice visit. It's always so great to chat with the Barnhart Grands; they are so interesting and have the greatest laughs. When Granddaddy laughs, it's kinda like you won the lottery.
