Baby Egghead

As many of you know, Jeremy is mildly cross-eyed. It's normal for babies, but it usually goes away at 3-6 months. So we decided to take him to the eye doctor and he recommended corrective action now or it becomes very difficult, if not impossible, to correct after two. So the first course of action: baby glasses.

We picked them up on Tuesday and he looks so adorable and intelligent that we can't help but call him "Baby Egghead" every time we see him. He does pretty well with leaving them on. He probably pulls them off and sucks on them only about 5-10 times a day.

He wears the glasses for 5 weeks then we'll go back to evaluate July 31. So that means he'll be lookin' good for the Woolley reunion and our visit to Alabama/Tennessee.

I think the glasses sent his IQ up at least 10 points. He's now into full on crawling (without the flump every 2 steps) and chasing the kitty around. He pulls himself up onto everything he sees, and lets himself back down. One of his favorite games is to play "all-terrain baby" and crawl all over us. He also likes to be thrown into the air and go swimming in our pool. And in the last week or so his first tooth came in and he's working on number 2. Mommy's just thrilled about that.

Last weekend I went to the 11-year-old scout camp as the assistant scoutmaster. It was very fun and the weather was great. During the day Friday the boys were kept very busy and we leaders had little to do. So I drove down the road and biked/hiked/scrambled to a remote lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

Other than completely losing the trail under snow and torrential run-off, it was absolutely gorgeous. I love summer-time in the mountains.
